Feature Film in Production | Cross-Cultural Screen Practice

A new feature film is currently in production, continuing Olivia Wang’s work as an award-winning Chinese–Australian screen actress working across art-house, character-driven, and cross-cultural cinema.

 

Developed within the Cross Encounters framework, the project brings together an international creative context, with a focus on:

 

– migration and identity

– cross-cultural narrative structures

– and embodied, internally driven screen performance

 

Known for a restrained, precise, and body-led performance language, Olivia’s work explores how emotion can be articulated through stillness, breath, and inner movement, rather than external display.

 

Her screen presence is shaped by a balance of intimacy and control, making her particularly suited for

character-driven roles within auteur and festival-oriented cinema.

 

This feature film marks a continued expansion of a practice positioned between

performance, authorship, and cross-cultural storytelling,

contributing to the emergence of a contemporary Chinese screen presence within international cinema.
